About the Perth and Kinross Lieutenancy

His Majesty King Charles III visited Kinross

The King visited Broke not Broken, the foodbank which won a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, to hear how an anti-poverty charity has been making a difference to people’s lives. Sixth form pupils and a teacher form Kinross High School attended the foodbank’s Peace garden where fruit and vegetables are grown.

His Majesty then opened the art exhibition at ARTS@STPAUL’S featuring pieces by local artists, where he was fascinated by the art and the talented artists then signed their visitors’ book before meeting members of the public outside. Kinross Primary School children, waving flags, and staff all got a view of the King from the Green Park Hotel.

The Day centre was buzzing with senior citizens and volunteers sharing funny stories. The King heard details of the services offered, including the provision of lunches for elderly residents and activities such as bingo, art classes and singing groups before He unveiled a plaque to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the centre.

The King met very sick children, their families and staff from the children’s hospice, Rachel House, CHAS.
