We are deeply saddened to receive news of the passing of Sir David Montgomery, 9th Baronet CVO who served as Lord-Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross from 1995 to 2006.
As His Majesty The King’s representative in the county, responsible for ceremonial duties, royal visits, and community engagement, Sir David Montgomery held the office for 11 years having been Vice Lord-Lieutenant from 1966 to 1974, succeeding Sir David Butter, and later succeeded by Brigadier Mel Jameson.
Our thoughts are with Sir David’s family at this sad time.
