Ina Shaw – 100th birthday

Ina Shaw, from Bankfoot, celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends with a lunch on 9 April at the Glover Arms in Perth.

Ina was born in Scone and moved, aged 3, to Bankfoot and has lived there ever since. At the outbreak of WWII, Ina worked in the local bake house and the Brown’s shop before travelling to Melbourne. In the late 1960s, Ina returned to Bankfoot and began working at Dewar’s bottling plant until she retired in 1984. Since retiring, Ina has enjoyed travelling at home and abroad to visit family and friends.

Vice Lord-Lieutenant Alex Cairncross paid a surprise visit to Ina to present her with a card from The King and Queen as well as a basket of flowers from Perth and Kinross Council.
