HRH The Duke of Edinburgh has become Royal Patron of Scottish Outdoor Education Centres.
On 1 July, His Royal Highness visited Belmont Outdoor Education Centre where He met young people from Meigle Primary School participating in outdoor learning. Mr Stephen Leckie, Lord Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross, Miss Alex Cairncross, Vice Lord Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross, accompanied The Duke on His visit. Provost Perth and Kinross, Mr Xander McDade, and Chief Executive of Perth and Kinross Council, Mr Thomas Glen were also in attendance. Attending from SOEC’s Board were Gavin Calder (Chair) and Harry Lukas. Jamie Miller (SOEC Chief Executive) and Jonny Channon (Manager, Belmont) were pleased to lead the SOEC staff team in welcoming the guests to this special day.
